Poems about Alcoholism

When a friend becomes an alcoholic, you may be left wondering what to do. How can you help this person when it seems that all they care about is drinking. They seem to have left the world behind. What can you do for an alcoholic? Some options are confronting them yourself about entering treatment or even trying to form an intervention of close friends. The truth is that there is nothing you can do to make anyone do anything. One of beliefs in Alcoholics Anonymous is that a person may have to hit rock bottom before they are ready to be treated.

Another day of life by the drop.
I pray to lord, help me stop.

I awake in pain, feeling shame.
Knowing soon again I'll play the game.

For the brief second with my self.
Before I walk over to ..........

I woke up and felt as if my life just ended,
Without knowing how my life may begin,
I get a call my mothers dead,
So many thoughts went threw my head,
    Without even a good-bye,
    How come ..........

And the alcohol rushing through his veins...

    Behind those eyes,
who would see the pain that lies inside,

    don't runaway.

When she feels the world doesn't care,

    It's a sneaky little thing
    That comes without a call.
When you think you have it conquered,
Is when you lose it all.

    Wherever you are going,
    Or wherever you may be,
    Don't think that it won't ..........

I drink all day and half the night.
I drink to drown out the pain from last nights smash.
I drink in hopes of falling into a coma.
Maybe I could find prince charming.
Not some punk with a tin ..........

There's only one thing I could ever say,
about the way I felt that day.
The day we sat with coloring books,
and kept laughing at our funny looks.
A memory forever imprinted in my soul,
    the only ..........

    Drunk Driving
    Is it worth
    All the pain
    And the hurt

    To take the life
    Of someone dear
    Just because
    You drank a beer.

    As you laughed
    While you sped
    Your friend screamed
    LOOK OUT ..........
